Role Summary

NdCare and the Neuro Inclusion Project are challenging dominant narratives around ADHD, neurodivergence, and “support”. The work spans clinical models, digital health, research, policy, and systems change.

We are seeking a Head of Narrative & Content to steward the public voice, internal coherence, and intellectual integrity of the work as it scales beyond a single founder’s output.

This role is not about volume.
It is about clarity, restraint, and trust.

Purpose of the Role

The Head of Narrative exists to:

  • Protect the conceptual coherence of NdCare’s work
  • Translate complex systems thinking into accessible, accurate language
  • Support and extend the founder’s voice without diluting it
  • Ensure public-facing material is ethically grounded and non-pathologising

If this role is done well, the narrative feels consistent, calm, and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

1. Narrative Strategy & Coherence

Define and maintain NdCare’s core narrative framework

Ensure consistency across:

  • website
  • white papers
  • training materials
  • campaigns

Prevent drift into oversimplification or contradiction

2. Founder Voice Protection

Work closely with the Founder to:

  • refine and extend core ideas
  • adapt tone for different audiences
  • reduce cognitive load associated with content production

Act as an editor, not a replacement

3. Content Development

Support the creation of:

  • insight pieces
  • explainers
  • policy-facing summaries
  • training content

Prioritise depth and accuracy over volume or virality

4. Ethical & ND-Affirming Language

Ensure language avoids:

  • deficit framing
  • shaming or coercive narratives
  • overselling claims

Advocate for nuance and honesty in public communication

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work alongside:

  • research and clinical leads
  • product and UX teams
  • partnerships and policy leads

Ensure narrative aligns with what is actually being delivered

What This Role Is Not

  • It is not a social media management role
  • It is not about growth hacks or engagement metrics
  • It is not about diluting complexity for speed
  • It is not a PR spin function

This role prioritises truth over traction.

Equity, Time & Structure

  • Compensation: Equity only (shares or options)
  • Equity range: ~0.5–1%
  • Vesting: 3–4 years (structure to be agreed)
  • Time commitment: ~1 day per week
  • Review point: 6 months
  • Salary transition: On funding or content contracts

Who This Role Is For

  • This role may suit someone who:
  • Is a strong systems-level writer or editor
  • Is comfortable working with complex, sensitive subject matter
  • Understands healthcare, neurodiversity, or social impact spaces
  • Values accuracy, restraint, and ethical responsibility
  • Can collaborate closely with a founder without ego

You do not need a marketing background... judgement matters more.

What We Explicitly Welcome

  • Neurodivergent communicators and writers
  • Flexible working styles
  • Asynchronous collaboration
  • Thoughtful challenge and clarification

We will adapt communication and process to support nervous-system safety.

Why This Role Matters

Narrative is infrastructure.

If the story fragments:

  • trust erodes
  • credibility weakens
  • impact blurs

The Head of Narrative ensures NdCare:

  • speaks clearly
  • speaks honestly
  • speaks with integrity
